The classic Ramones Logo shirt could not be missing in this shop.
Mexican graphic designer Arturo Vega designed the Ramones logo. Vega’s idea was to adopt the Great Seal of the President of the United States as the band logo, making some changes, of course. The reason for this is straightforward because Vega considered the Ramones the “ultimate all-American band.”
The olive branch held by the eagle in the right claw became an apple tree branch, symbolizing that the Ramones were as American as apple pie. The arrows held in the left paw became a baseball bat because Johnny Ramone was a baseball fanatic. On the parchment in the eagle’s beak, which usually reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” the writing “Look out below” appeared. Then it was replaced by the invocation “Hey ho let’s go” from the opening words of “Blitzkrieg Bop,” the first single from the band. Where in the presidential seal we read, from left to right in the border surrounding the eagle, “Seal of the President of the United States,” Vega put the names of the members of the band, which changed over time, hand in hand with changes in the band’s line up.
We offer the Ramones Logo shirt in its first version, with the words “Look out below” and the names of the original line-up.
