This David Bowie shirt – The Man Who Sold the World, features the cover of Bowie’s third studio album.
“The Man Who Sold the World,” David Bowie’s third studio album, was released in the United States in November 1970 by Mercury. The cover image was made by Michael J. Weller, a British underground comics artist. Weller drew a cowboy, inspired by John Wayne, in front of an asylum. Although the cover was beautiful, Bowie decided to change it in the English edition the following year. Weller’s cartoon-like image was replaced by a photo of Bowie wearing a dress by fashion designer Michael Fish. Both are beautiful, but we prefer the former. And that’s what decorates this beautiful shirt.
